Summative Entry

The Nineteenth Century gave me real insight into human and social issues that are still current in the 21st century. This blog through a combination of Creative and Critical posts demonstrated these issues and the contemporary relevance they have. My Initial blog post was a disagreement with Dorothy Coleridge’s negative opinion of domestic life inContinueContinue reading “Summative Entry”

Katelin, I found this be an excellent original piece of creative writing. I totally get what you mean about the difficulty of trying not to be generic, however, I think through your own creative exploration you managed to avoid that well. Your choice of phrasing was quite excellent and added genuine emotion to your character.ContinueContinue reading “Peer review 3”

You are a Victorian woman or man. Describe the things that you value most in life.

For those of you from the future reading this I’m writing to give clarity about what I value most in this world. As any man should I value my loyal wife and four beautiful children most. I visited the South Coast twice, after the fires became controllable, for a total of three weeks. During one of those stays we had the large downpour that caused flooding. Just a warning this mayContinueContinue reading “Write a poem about an experience in your life in which nature was the teacher.”

I disagree with Wordsworth’s reaction to domestic life but I also disagree with Coleridge’s because their opinions are subjective. In my humble opinion a rural style of living is beautiful and presents a freeing peaceful life. However, that doesn’t mean I’d argue or attempt to portray it as a “new eden” as I believe itContinueContinue reading “Are you in agreement with Dorothy Wordsworth’s reactions to S.T. This blog addresses the concept that “Australia is not a finished product” By utilising relevant Australian literature it discusses the linear progression of Australian writing. Through a series of individual blog posts which discuss different topics, either critically or creatively, this blog discusses this concept.  My initial blog post introduces Judith Wright’s idea “the mountainContinueContinue reading “Summative Entry”
